- Based in Richmond in our purpose-built Emergency Operations Centre
- Being the first point of contact for callers and visitors to the Centre
- Assisting in maintaining the readiness of the Group EOC
- Setting up for meetings, including catering and IT support
- Budget support, purchasing and contract management
- Training administration and support for public education sessions
- Supporting the New Zealand Response Team and volunteers
- Managing office processes and documentation
- Meeting coordination, including invites, agendas, note-taking, minutes,

- Strong operational and practical skills
- Previous experience working in emergency situations or ‘first response’ agencies (e.g. emergency services, or health sector) is an advantage.
- Reliability and good judgement
- A calm approach under pressure
- An approachable and responsive working style, which enables you to quickly build rapport
- A self-motivated approach to ensuring the smooth running of the office and supporting team activities
- Ease with learning how to operate new systems and equipment quickly (satellite phones, radios etc.)
- Demonstrable experience working in and contributing to high performing teams. Given the dynamic nature of the role, a full driver’s licence is required, as well as flexibility to attend community events and support during emergencies.
