In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whānau be the best they can be.He kōrero mō te tūranga | The RoleAs a Mental Health Professional, you'll provide wrap-around support to Tangata Whaiora in a hands-on capacity in a service that has a whanau orientated framework. This is a varied role, and your day-to-day duties will depend on the number of Tangata Whaiora in the service. This role with have you integrating your clinical expertise, knowledge, and competencies alongside recovery approaches to provide quality services to Tangata Whaiora and their family/whānau.You will support Tangata Whaiora to work towards their personal goals and aspirations by using evidence based clinical interventions, professional skills, coaching and supporting other team members, working alongside, and supervising the service's peer support worker.This is a permanent full-time position, working rostered shifts, Monday to Sunday.Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with the clients and family/whanau.
  • Provide clinical expertise within the service that both ensures and advocates for safe management and effective service provision to clients
  • Work in partnership with clients so that they set challenging goals and have a plan to achieve their goals.
  • Assess and manage potential and actual client risks, ensuring appropriate documentation, reporting and communication.
  • Oversee client documentation from entry through to exit, including Client Pathway assessments and Support Needs Assessments.
  • Provide the information that clients require so that they are able to make informed choices.
He kōrero mōu | About YouWe are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. As youth can potentially only be with us for two to three days at a time, you'll need to have the ability to build relationships quickly in a genuine manner and have a passion to see youth succeed. You'll also have an eye for spotting changes to behaviour and be able to respond appropriately to crisis situations.To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Current registration with a professional body covered by HPCA 2003 Act, Social Work Registration, or DAAPANZ.
  • Preferably at least two year post qualifying experience within the Mental Health/AO sectors.
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience with creating personalised plans is a must for this role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to recovery values
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Should be eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • A current full driver's licence.
