We are currently looking for a Wellington based Corporate Accountant who enjoys working in a varied exciting role someone who can look beyond the numbers and add real value to our business.You will be working with the finance team which is mostly Wellington based alongside our Chief Financial Officer.   • Analyses past performance financial data and prepare budgets and forecasts for business unit management for Sales, General and Administration (SG&A)
  • As a partner in the accounting process, recommends how to improve efficiency using automation.
  • Responsible for the assembly of the annual audit information for external auditors
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Oversight of the tax responsibilities & submissions for NTT NZ including GST, FBT and income tax
  • Review of the balance sheet recons prepared by the outsource provider and recommending actions to senior management
  • Responsible for analysing journals, producing data analysis and reports and assists with variance analysis.
  • Manages the hedging of foreign currency
  • Plans month-end activities which includes processing of month-end journal entries and executing a variety of actions in the accounting system, including review of statutory schedules for quarterly reporting
  • Implements effective financial controls, including review of systems reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of reported figures.
  • Build strong relationships with both the NTTNZ and the NTT DBS teams to assist in delivering high quality services to our customers.
What would make you a good fit for this role?
  • Chartered Accountant with at least 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong systems and financial modelling skills, including Excel and ERP systems. SAP experience preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrate high analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines.
  • An active team player as well as a drive to lead change and process improvements.
Required Experience:
  • Advanced experience in a similar position in a related environment
  • Advanced experience with accounting software
  • Advanced demonstrable extensive experience within finance in a company with international operations
