We are seeking a diary farm assistant who is honest and reliable with a positive attitude and good work ethic to join our established team in Culverden for the 2024/2025 season.
The successful applicant will be capable of milking cows, identifying and treating mastitis, checking calving cows and assisting with calvings, tractor driving, feeding calves and be able to carry out other day to day farm tasks such as break fencing paddocks, spraying and weed control.
The ideal applicant will also be experienced with New Zealand dairy farming systems and have had 12 months previous experience on a New Zealand dairy farm.Successful applicants must have:
- New Zealand residency or valid work visa
- Be happy to work outside in all weather conditions
- Be physically fit and pass a basic health assessment if required
- Be drug free (applicant will be required to pass a pre employment drug test)
- Undergo a pre employment criminal history check
- Be able to communicate well in spoken and written English
- Minimum one year experience on a New Zealand dairy farm
- At least one reference from a previous employer
Roster is 6 days on 1 day off from August till October and 8 on 2 off 8 on 3 off for the rest of the season.
- Shared single accommodation is available on farm.
- This is a fulltime permanent position.
- Start date ASAP or 1 June 2024 negotiable depending on visa acceptance if required.
- Average hours per week 45. With a minimum of 30 hours per week. Any hours worked over and above the 45 hours per week will be paid at the rate of $29.66 per hour.
