We are surging in people and resources in response to these priorities.Mō te tūranga mahi | About the roleThis team is responsible for embedding relevant frameworks in risk, assurance and resilience, and ensuring the Ministry meets those framework expectations. This team sits with the legal Risk Group and reports to the General Manager Legal & Risk.The purpose of the Risk, Assurance and Resilience (RAR) function is to provide a centralised function which leads, engages, and provides support and oversight of Risk, Assurance, and Resilience activities to support the Ministry to achieve its strategic and business objectives. In order to achieve this, the aim of RAR is to elevate risk and assurance activities that aligns to government good practice and to support the Ministry in embedding good practices, controls, and understanding of risk throughout its business processes. The team is expected to work closely within the Legal & Risk group and particularly build strong relationships with business units across the Ministry.The purpose of this role is to work closely with the General Manager, Legal & Risk/Chief Legal Advisor to take a lead role in the Ministry's Audit and Risk Committee agenda and papers. You will also be expected to take a leading role to ensure your team builds strong, constructive relationships, develops effective tools, documents and artefacts that give effect to the developed frameworks and taking the lead on certain issues as they arise.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), at all levels across government and public sector
Strong and proven experience building relationships across organisations to give effect to Risk, Assurance and Resilience frameworks.
Experience in managing and leading a team responsible for the development of quality documents and advice
Experience in the preparation, drafting and delivery of quality risk and assurance documents and advice, and implement sound quality processes, in cooperation with relevant internal stakeholders
Confident and capable of facilitating group sessions with customers/users and giving presentations
Experience in Risk management and assurance government accountability and legislative requirements related to risk management, assurance, business continuity and compliance
Competence in the implementation and management of the All of Government Enterprise Risk Maturity Assessment Framework (GERMAF)
Experience in managing the implementation of projects and programmes, managing risks and business analysis
