There is plenty of opportunity to make a positive and meaningful difference.The OpportunityThe People Operations Manager role offers the opportunity to lead as well as roll up your sleeves are get involved on a variety of day to day people matters.As a member of the People and Capability leadership team, the People Operations Manager will lead a small HR advisory team, focussed primarily on supporting people leaders with people issues and developing people leader capability to get the best out of their people. The role will oversee and provide specialist ER advice and mentoring to people advisors within the People Operations Team; so at your core you'll be someone who is generous with your time and who enjoys teaching and growing talent. You'll also be someone who is happy to put on tools to effectively manage some of our most difficult ER cases.The RoleYour direct responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the HR advisory team to build it's capability and be a service that works as a trusted advisor with the organisation to achieve it's goals
  • Alongside the ER Lead, support the development and implementation of restorative employment relations practices
  • Proactively manage complex employment relations cases and provide support and guidance to the HR advisory team to develop their capabilities to manage such cases
  • Be a positive advocate and champion for continuous improvement within the People and Culture team and the wider organisation
  • Being accountable as a Treaty Partner and lead with the approach of applying a Te Ao Māori perspective
About youThe People Operations Manager requires a strategic and continuous improvement mindset with the ability to be influential and take people on the journey.Important to this role:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Psychology, law or equivalent level of experience within an appropriate specialist field
  • Proven leadership experience as a senior HR professional with strong experience in employment relations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Employment Relations and relevant legislation.
  • Previous experience or a strong interest in implementing restorative and early intervention strategies
  • Developed experience in leading/influencing in a comparably complex and sizable environment
  • Upholds the principle of an inclusive and approachable working style
  • Holds an understanding of the future of HR and delivering the ultimate employee experience
