We are seeking an enthusiastic generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist to join a dedicated team in Women’s Health in a tertiary hospital working with a team of 16 OB/GYNs. The working week is 45 hours with a mixture of day time and on call duties. You will be responsible for the management of out patients, day patients and in patients, daily ward rounds, operating lists and the supervision and training of junior medical officers.The position is based in the friendly city of Hamilton with the benefits of an affordable cost of living, a vibrant arts and culture scene, outdoor activities on your doorstep and good schools; the perfect family lifestyle. Located centrally in the heart of the North Island, close to beaches, mountains, lakes and forests, with a domestic airport and Auckland only an hour away, Hamilton truly is a welcoming community and an ideal place to call home.The post is based in a tertiary training hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Centre serving the whole Waikato region: one of the busiest in New Zealand.Key Role RequirementsTo be successful in your application for this opportunity as the Consultant OB/GYN, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
  • A degree in medicine - MBBS, MBChB, MD
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Medical Council of New Zealand vocational registration or eligibility for this in the scope of OB/GYN
  • Competency in the following: Advanced minimal access gynaecology surgery, General and emergency gynaecology Comprehensive experience of surgical management of gynaecological emergencies
Remuneration and BenefitsThis job attracts a basic salary for 40 hour week, over time allowances for on call duties, study leave allowance and relocation package.
  • Salary details: $170,369 - $250,560 basic
