Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe primary purpose of the role is to Lead the Nelson Marlborough District Finance team that deliver quality financial management direction to the Group Director Operations (GDO) to drive financial performance, minimise financial risk and inform and improve operational decision-making to ensure budget objectives are met.The role oversees that finance deliverables including monthly reporting on income, expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow performance along with the design and preparation of district, hospital and health service budgets and forecasts are completed in a timely manner. Importantly the role leads a team, engages and operates as part of the District leadership team and oversees effective financial controls. The role is location specific, required to be located with the GDO.About youYou'll bring 10 - 15 years of proven experience in senior financial management roles, along with a deep understanding of financial principles and practices. You have a strong track record as a senior financial manager in a leadership capacity, successfully overseeing financial operations and delivering results.Your technical expertise spans accounting and finance, with a solid grasp of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
