This is one of the most significant programmes of work in our planning pipeline to ensure that Auckland's rail network is fit for the future - and this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Auckland!These roles are fixed term until June 2026, with possibility of further extension.Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity- Senior Transport Planner to June 2026
  • Initiate and lead the development and delivery of transport system plan and business cases.
  • Deliver plans to address development and changing levels of service demand.
  • Shape and inform AT's long-term investment needs and create a prioritised pipeline of investment, to be funded through the Regional Land Transport Plan or other funding mechanisms.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, urban planning, project management or related discipline.
  • Five years' experience in feasibility studies and business case process and development, ideally related to transport and funding.
  • A good understanding of transport and urban planning; and local and central government policies
  • Some experience of reviewing and overseeing work produced by professional advisors and junior transport planners.
  • Experience in co-ordinating or managing delivery of complex transport projects; or cross-agency projects.
