The company holds more than $23M of inventory, employs over 130 staff and has a catalogue of thousands of medical and pharmaceutical consumables.
- Based at the Auckland Head Office, you will be a highly valued team member in the Purchasing Dept, ie as one of four specialist purchasing administrators all referred to as 'Purchasing Specialists' reporting to the Purchasing Manager
- Generate purchase orders on vendors in line with purchasing schedules
- Review requisitions, checking for demand discrepancies
- Where suppliers are known to acknowledge receipt of orders ensure these are received
- Upon receipt of back order communication from supplier, ensure ETA information is entered into SAP
- Analyse the impact on stock of any revised back order ETA and notify the appropriate Product Manager and Customer Services accordingly
- Ensure ETA's for out of stock materials are up to date
- Review and action Daily Outstanding Purchase Order Report
- Create purchase orders as appropriate
- Advise Inward Goods of priorities in receipting related to demands for immediate release to despatch critical/urgent items.
- Review delivery discrepancies and advise Inwards Goods of action to be taken
- Ensure all unit of measure changes or code changes notified by the supplier are referred to the appropriate Product Manager for correction.
- Regular review and update of product demand against forecast
- Resolving internal and external queries
- Expediting purchase orders and review reports for ordering anomalies
- You will enjoy paying attention to detail and have an interest in the supply chain function - with all-round numeracy, purchasing administration and computer skills (SAP is used, but as long as you have used something similar and enjoy using spreadsheets too)
- A team player, you will be naturally inquisitive and aware that all you do has a flow-on effect in the system. Email is the most common form of communication
- Able to meet challenges eg customer expectations re ETA's, and suppliers inability at times to provide them in a timely manner
- Start from early May, a role where you will be providing assistance to and receive a fantastic handover by working closely with a team member (who will then be taking leave from mid June, returning mid July), then you will take over the role solely in their absence - a busy role that is relatively involved, ie a higher level than Purchasing Administrator
- Join very stable and long serving workforce (eg up to 30 years) and training within the role on their methods
- Start early May, a Temp assignment for approximately 2 ½ months but with possible future opportunities
- Free onsite parking
- 30 to 5pm (not flexible due to these being the clients/suppliers hours of business too)
- $31.32/hour (includes 8% holiday pay)
