With no office politics, an excellent company culture and a modern rooftop office (BBQ anyone?), this kind of opportunity does not come around often.POSITION SUMMARYThe IT Solutions and Security Administrator role provides the business with effective IT support services and security execution, ensuring that its technology solutions are running smoothly. This position will focus on implementing, configuring, and supporting IT systems, software, hardware, and networks to ensure they meet the needs of the business and its users. It will also be responsible for increasing the security posture of the business, updating and implementing a security pathway. This position is highly responsive to the requests of internal stakeholders with work priorities largely influenced by these parties.SIGNIFICANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPSInternal· Managing Director· Support Team· General Manager· Executive Management Team· Architecture Team· Development Team· Sales and Marketing Team· Human Resources Team· Finance Team· Infrastructure TeamExternal· Suppliers and VendorsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIESSystem Administration
  • Oversee/maintain business and IT systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
Security Management
  • Implement security frameworks and processes including antivirus software, encryption and monitoring systems to protect the business’ data and IT assets
  • Manage 3rd party security solutions relating to the risks associated with external vendors and entities
Software and Hardware Support
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot software applications, hardware devices and operating systems
Backup and Recovery
  • Ensure proper data backup strategies and disaster plans are in place to protect against data loss
User Support and Training
  • Assist staff with IT-related issues, offer technical support, including training new staff on new technologies
Monitoring and Troubleshooting
  • Monitor system performance regularly
  • Identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems when they arise
Project Management
  • Participate in IT projects, including the upgrade of systems or implementing new technologies
  • Endeavour to improve efficiency and meet business needs
Work Planning & Management
  • Participate in daily tasks and projects to ensure work is completed consistent with assigned priorities and deadlines.
  • Participate in planning meetings as required.
  • Attend meetings with team and stakeholders to give timely updates on work progress and resolution of issues.
Occupational Health & Safety
  • Responsible for taking reasonable care to ensure own health and safety at work, and to avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person at work

  • Due to the fluid and dynamic environment within the group, new, additional, or amended position responsibilities may be required at any time
  • Successful demonstration of change orientation is an ongoing responsibility of all positions

  • All documentation is professional, accurate and timely

  • Meet project deadlines in accordance with direction from DevOps & Infrastructure Manager
  • All other internal and regular deliverables (which are not projects themselves) to be achieved on time and to the required standard
  • Provide suggestions for improvements to infrastructure processes

PERSON SPECIFICATIONQualifications & Experience
  • A related tertiary qualification
  • Eg: Computer science/engineering.
  • Security related certificates ideal.
Required Skills & Experience
  • A sound understanding of IT infrastructure, systems administration, and support services
  • Proven experience in server management, networking, cloud services and security
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
  • Understanding of common security protocols and their implementation
  • Experience in security management and/or frameworks (ISO27001/SOC2)
