We take pride in being connected to the Tawa community and our resident enjoy their continued active role.Mō te tūranga - About the roleAs a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves.We have two roles available:
Night shifts permanent 48 hours per fortnight
Morning shifts permanent 52 hours per fortnight
Your key responsibilities will be:
Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident
Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves
Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
Take instruction and tasks from the Registered Nurse
Ensure resident's needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner
We work with a fixed roster so you can plan ahead but the ability to offer some flexibility to pick up additional shifts, to provide cover in the home is always welcomed. So get in touch and have a chat with us, we'd love to hear from you!Mō koe - About YouAs well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:
Minimum of Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or above.
Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant or support worker role
Ability to be an active member of a team environment
Good verbal communication and documentation skills
Basic computer skills

A progressive pay scale that recognises your qualifications $24.08 - $30.00 per hour, based on skills & experience
