They are a busy Best Practice accredited companion animal clinic in Havelock North and offer a full range of services, including on-site Idexx blood testing, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy.Havelock North is an affluent small town in Hawkes Bay with great beaches, wineries, and restaurants. The clinic has motivated clients who like to pursue Best Practices, and they always strive to provide the very best care for their patients. The client can offer complicated case referrals to Massey and Auckland.This full-time position includes rostered weekends (1 in 5) and on-call work. After-hours services are shared between themselves and two other local clinics. Salary is negotiable. The roster is flexible to allow for time off. They would be open to the idea of a 4-day week.You would be joining a team of 3 amazing full-time and 2 wonderful part-time vets who work alongside 8 brilliant vet nurses. The clinic is proud to be one of the few independent clinics left! It has a friendly, supportive team that gets along well.   • Ensure all team members provide quality and ethical care to all clients and their pets.
  • Assess and examine and diagnose patients’ medical issues.
  • Perform surgery, dress and treat wounds.
  • Perform diagnostic laboratory, imaging and ultrasound testing where required.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and immunisations.
  • Educate clients on positive lifestyle choices for pets.
  • Euthanise patients if and when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
Minimum Requirements
  • BVSc Degree from the University of Pretoria
  • SAVC Registration
  • Updated CPD Points
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Dedication to continuing education and professional growth.
  • A love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
