This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development of both community-based and hospital-based secondary care cardiology services.We are particularly interested in hearing from cardiologists with experience in pacing procedures, as this is a growing area of focus within our service.What we can offer

About the Team/ServiceWe have a well-established heart failure service and are actively implementing national standards for cardiac care. The service is currently undergoing significant development, including the expansion of dedicated facilities for diagnostic angiography, PCI, and pacemaker implantation.Our department is well-equipped with facilities for:
Exercise ECGs
Ambulatory monitoring
Echocardiography (including TOE)
Diagnostic cardiac angiography and PCI
CT coronary angiography
Cardiac MRI
SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging
Permanent pacemaker insertion and follow-up
MidCentral serves a population of approximately 180,000 and provides a comprehensive range of cardiology services including diagnostic angiography, pacing, echocardiography, CTCA, CMRI, and an integrated heart failure and inpatient service.Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua – MidCentral is a 350-bed secondary hospital located in Palmerston North, in the heart of the Manawatū region. While we serve a local population of 180,000, we also provide regional services to a broader population of 550,000 across Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay.About you
Proven clinical experience in cardiology
A strong understanding of departmental development and clinical governance
Experience in establishing or expanding interventional services
