We're on the lookout for a skilled Pipe Fabricator/Welder to join a busy workshop team based in South-East Christchurch, with occasional site installation work included. If you've got solid welding and fabrication experience and enjoy a mix of workshop precision and hands-on site work, this is a great opportunity to step into long-term, consistent employment.Location: South-East Christchurch
Start: Immediate start available
Pay rate: $32-$35 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)What you'll be doing:
- Fabricating and assembling pipe systems in the workshop to detailed specifications
- MIG and TIG welding across various materials
- Reading and working from technical drawings and weld symbols
- Measuring, cutting, and prepping pipe using workshop tools and equipment
- Assisting with on-site installation and fitting of fabricated piping systems
- Operating fabrication machinery and maintaining a tidy, safe workspace
- Working with a small team to meet project deadlines
7:30am-5:00pm, Monday to FridayWhat we're looking for:
- A relevant qualification in heavy or pipe fabrication (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in welding and fabrication
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
- Confident working both in the workshop and occasionally on-site
- Ability to read and follow technical plans
- High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Weekly pay: $32-$35 per hour
- PPE supplied by the Tradestaff Christchurch team
- Monday to Friday hours, no weekend work
