The region boasts a stunning natural environment that stretches from south-east of Mangawhai across to the Kaipara Harbour and all the way up to New Zealand’s northernmost tip, Cape Rēinga.Gain new skills, expand your contacts, broaden your worldview and make new friends, all while gaining valuable professional experience!Our region is a combination of natural landscapes such as golden beaches, secluded coves; breath-taking seascapes, ancient forests, and a rich tapestry of flora and fauna.Click on this link to know more about our region https://www.northlandnz.com/visit/About the roleThe role of Clinical Physiologist (Respiratory / Sleep) is an allied health, scientific and technical professional who has formally demonstrated an ability to apply expert clinical competence to a highly advanced level of complexity.Our ideal candidate will have the ability to participate in and maintain a comprehensive, high quality and efficient Respiratory/Sleep service for Health NZ - Te Whatu Ora, Northland; and will be familiar with non-invasive ventilation Sleep Studies and management of Sleep Apnoea and Lung Function testing.This is a permanent, full time position working 40 hours per week. Whilst the role is based at Whangarei Hospital, regular coverage at peripheral hospitals (Bay of Islands, Kaitaia and Dargaville) is a requirement of the role.Key Requirements
  • Significant Proven experience within a recognised establishment
  • Minimum 2-years post qualification experience with demonstrated ability to perform all core pulmonary diagnostic tests
  • Ability to gain registration as a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with the NZ Clinical Physiologists Registration Board or work towards gaining
  • Experience in screening for obstructive sleep apnoea
  • Current Driver's License and a willingness to travel
Whilst not essential, applicants with a Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Respiratory Physiology or equivalent will be highly desired. We are also seeking applicants who have additional competence in aspects of cardiac monitoring and testing and who have a demonstrated ability to teach diagnostic pulmonary function testingBenefits
