Te Kōwhiringa | The OpportunityDowner hold a long term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 16 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites.This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to expand their knowledge in the Facilities sector. There are a lot of opportunities to grow within the team and you will be exposed to different responsibilities that will further enhance your skills as an HVAC Technician.Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments, so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Support service and project delivery under the direction of designated leadership, working within defined parameters such as time, cost, and resources.
Maintain positive customer relationships and provide technical support as needed.
Assist in developing specifications, engineering designs, scopes, costs, and quotes for solutions.
Contribute to risk management, service improvements, and business development initiatives when requested.

Possess relevant technical skills, HVAC technician experience, qualifications, and a valid New Zealand driver's licence.
Understand basic business operations and financial principles.
Demonstrate strong service and project delivery experience.
Communicate effectively with all levels and follow directions from leadership.
Show strong personal management, ownership, motivation, and a positive, outcome-focused attitude.
Apply strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to challenge the status quo for improvement.
