Assistant Accountant

About the role - Kōrero mō te tūrangaThe Assistant Accountant is responsible for providing support and guidance to the Ministry's Financial Services team . In addition to this, you are also responsible for but, not limited to;
  • Undertake month end processes
  • Monitoring the Ministry's cash requirements
  • Monitor and support the Ministry's debt management
  • Assist in Ministry's payment processes
For more detail you can view a copy of theThe full salary range for this role is $78,043 and $105,587 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.We expect to appoint around the midpoint $91,815 - give or take depending on your level of experience.Who are we looking for? - Mā‎ wai te mahi nei?We'd like to hear from you if you are an up and coming accountant with the following skills and experience:
  • Familiarity with foreign currency transactions and banking requirements
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and required operating practices
  • An ability to coach others and work effectively and collegially
  • Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
