Do you want a role where no two days are the same?Are you looking to develop your professional skills and build your career as a health professional?Do you have great communication and relationship skills?Odysseys Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges, alcohol and drug dependency.We are currently seeking a Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician to join our residential team based in Kamo, Whangarei. The available role is rostered from Sunday to Thursday working the following hours:Sunday 7.45am - 3.45pmMonday 7.45am - 3.45pmTuesday 7.45am - 3.45pmWednesday 7.45am - 3.45pmThursday 1.00pm - 9.00pmOur ideal candidates will have:· Up to 1 years' experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting· Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g. in health science, social work, counselling or mental health· An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner· A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model· Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms· Some skills in group and individual therapy· Great communication and relationship management skills· A full, clean NZ drivers licenseIn return we offer:· A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including an annual allowance for working rostered evening and weekend shifts, 22 days annual leave and 5 days study leave per year· Paid professional fees and varied professional development and training opportunities· Paid meal breaks and free meals/ fruit· A committed and supportive team who are passionate about the mahiMore about us:Odyssey has supported thousands of New Zealanders whose lives are affected by alcohol, drug or other addiction challenges.
