He kōrero mō mātou | About UsKa Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a social services organisation providing a range of services to whānau, including Health and Disability, Youth and Emergency Housing. Our kaimahi all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of supporting people to live their best life as independently as possible.Based in Lower Hutt, this six-bed residential co-ed service delivers a mix of Day Programme, crisis and planned respite.He kōrero mō te tūranga | The RoleAs a Peer Support Worker, you'll provide wrap-around support to Rangatahi which could be in a hands-on capacity in a service that has a whanau orientated framework. You'll support with medication management and helping Rangatahi to be autonomous in themselves.You'll be part of a supportive team with a manager who cares and wants to see you thrive in your role. An on-call Manager will be available to you for support during rostered hours. You'll need to have a good level of computer skills to record notes and hand-over information.Your personal lived experience is at the heart of this role, it's what makes your support unique and impactful.He kōrero mōu | About YouAs youth can potentially only be with us for 2-3 days at a time, you'll need to have the ability to build relationships quickly in a genuine manner and have a passion to see youth succeed. You'll also have an eye for spotting changes to behaviour and be able to respond appropriately to crisis situations.You'll contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and create safe, calm, and nurturing spaces for whānau.
