Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThis role is within our Referral Centre in the Ambulatory Clerical Team, based in the Outpatient Department of Gisborne Hospital.The core responsibilities of this role are to receive referrals, enter them electronically into our referral and Patient Management systems, and maintain quality processes, ensuring each referral is tracked, triaged and entered accordingly to National Guidelines.There is 1.4 FTE vacant that can be split to accommodate the hours to suit a full-time & a part-time candidate or multiple part-time positions.Position Description: Electronic Referral AdministratorAbout the Team/Service/ LocationAs part of the Ambulatory Clerical Team, which is made up of reception, administration, scheduling and waitlist management, this role forms an integral part of the patient journey locally, regionally and nationally.We are a dedicated team of administrators that support the referral system, booking system and patient information. We work together to support our patients and one another, ensuring that we provide the best service to our community alongside our clinical and support staff.For more information on living and working in Gisborne, clickAbout youAs a Referral Centre Administrator will need to have the following experience;
  • Previous administration experience with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Have excellent word processing and data entry skills, with a strong eye for detail
  • Flexible approach with the ability to successfully prioritise workload
  • Respectful nature handling confidential, often sensitive information in a professional manner
  • A quick learner with the ability to apply critical thinking
  • Experience with Microsoft applications and/or Patient Management Systems
