Consultant Gastroenterologist |- - Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy

• Permanent FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.
• The hospital is a modern facility with a full range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services, including MRI, and is one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand
• gastroenterology services are housed in one place providing 2 procedure rooms, patient recovery, resource and administration areas, clinic spaces and meeting rooms
• busy service provides over 3,000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2,000 outpatient appointments.
• Gastroenterology team currently comprises three gastroenterologists, and nurses lead by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient, and endoscopy experience
• job involves teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement
• 40 hour week plus on call rota

• FRACP or equivalent qualification accepted by the Medical Council of New Zealand
• Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
