Wayfinder Mana Ake Programme in SchoolsAn exciting opportunity has become available to work part-time as a Wayfinder/Taiurungi, as part of the Waiariki Mana Ake Programme in Taupō and Tūrangi. The role presents a phenomenal opportunity to make a positive difference.He korero mō te tūranga - About the RoleThis role will be responsible for delivering early interventional health and wellbeing guidance, support and service within Kaupapa Māori Kura/ Kura a iwi. The Mana Ake service is led by health but delivered in collaboration with education, enabling the delivery of support where initial discovery of wellbeing need is often identified in a community setting.The Wayfinder/Taiurungi will work closely with the clinical team, providing individual and group-based interventions and whole of classroom programmes in kura. The Wayfinder/Taiurungi will provide a link between the clinical team, Kura Kaupapa/Kura a iwi, as well as wider whānau and community supports.The Wayfinder/Taiurungi will form part of a culturally responsive workforce focused on building whakawhānaungatanga and relationships and will walk alongside tamariki and whānau on their wellbeing journey. The design and delivery of wellbeing support will be informed by tamariki and families/whānau voice.We are looking for an individual who has established networks and relationships with local communities within the Waiariki rohe and enjoys working with a wide range of people. Experience working within health, education or social service collaborative initiatives, and experience in working with whānau are key requirements for this role.He korero mōu - About YouYou should have
  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
  • Computer competency
  • Phenomenal relationship skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • A full driver’s license
You will be
  • Experienced in working with community, tamariki and whānau
  • Adaptable and able to pivot within a rapidly changing environment
  • Fluent in Te Reo
