- Support the development of policy advice on aviation-related issues by conducting research, preparing background materials, and drafting components of policy documents.
- Assist in reviewing regulatory and legislative proposals, including international technical agreements.
- Prepare briefing notes, consultation documents, and policy materials for senior staff and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of Civil Aviation Rules and other regulatory interventions by gathering evidence, analysing it and recommending solutions to problems.
- Work with the wider team to scope, plan, and deliver policy projects, identifying risks and engaging stakeholders.
- Support consultation processes by coordinating meetings, preparing materials, and summarising feedback.
- Assist with the coordination of responses to international enquiries and information requests
- Collaborate on New Zealand's participation in international aviation forums, including preparation and logistics.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a policy advisory role within a regulatory environment.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to convey complex information.
- Ability to show initiative, plan work and deliver results to the required standard and deadlines, with a minimum of supervision.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
