Alongside this, kaiako provide pastoral care and connect with ākonga through regular huinga ako — online or face to face — where learners connect, receive guidance, and strengthen their sense of belonging.Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this positionWe're looking for a dedicated kaiako with expertise in Mathematics to join our Hastings team.In this role you will:
Support ākonga to engage deeply in learning that is aligned with their goals, passions and interests.
Facilitate regular huinga ako (online and face-to-face) to provide pastoral care, connection, and personalised learning
Provide constructive feedback and feedforward on ākonga learning
Collaborate with colleagues and whānau to create flexible, engaging learning experiences
A genuine interest in learning and embracing te reo Māori, with a commitment to growing your skills

New Zealand teacher registration and a current practising certificate
Strong knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum and assessment practices
A calm, inclusive, and supportive approach to teaching and pastoral care
