We're offering a unique opportunity for passionate and motivated candidates to join our post-graduate MRI training programme within the Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CCHV) Radiology departments.Based primarily at Wellington Hospital, with rotations through Hutt Hospital as required, this hands-on training role will immerse you in the full spectrum of MRI imaging. You'll receive clinical tutelage and scanning supervision from experienced MRI technologists, helping you build the skills and confidence to thrive in this specialised field.About the Team/Service LocationAs a trainee MRI technologist, you'll be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging. You'll learn to:
Prepare and position patients for MRI scans
Operate advanced MRI equipment
Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures
Maintain accurate records and documentation
This role is your gateway to MRI specialisation through the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). You'll explore topics such as MRI technology, safety, imaging appearances, protocol development, and clinical reflection-all while gaining real-world experience in a supportive environment.About youWe're looking for candidates who are:
Eligible/enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in MRI (PGDipSc MRI) through the University of Auckland
Eligible for registration with the New Zealand MRTB as a trainee MRI Technologist
Eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to delivering excellent patient care
