Job Category: OperationsJob Description:Te Tūranga/About the RoleThe Technical Manager is a key member of the site management team and is responsible for providing leadership to our Technical/Compliance team to effectively implement and monitor all food safety and quality programs. The Technical Manager will work closely with operations and MPI to ensure compliance with company, customer, regulatory and overseas market access requirements.Key responsibilities will include:Develop and champion a team culture that strives to achieve compliance, health and safety, and production targets * Lead, mentor and build capacity of the Technical/Compliance Team consisting of auditors and quality assurance inspectors.Facilitate customer audits from a technical aspect and co-ordinate actions required to achieve an acceptable outcome.Identify issues that may affect compliance with food safety programmes and HACCP systems and work with relevant members of the site team and MPI to resolve them.Play a key role in implementing and promoting quality and continuous improvement initiatives, which can include helping with trials and investigations.Ōu Pūkenga /About You:The successful candidate will demonstrate compliance team leadership experience and be able to effectively influence and support our people to meet all our requirements across production, food safety, quality, and regulatory frameworks. They will be confident with influencing through negotiation to ensure satisfactory outcomes for site and departmental goals; and be a strong people focused leader who understands that our team is critical to our success.

Previously held a technical leadership role and able to demonstrate key people skills
Internal auditing qualification and/or experience desirable but not essential
Previous experience within the food industry is desirable but not essential
Excellent knowledge of HACCP principles and application
Capacity to analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions, and present information in a clear and concise manner
