The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahiOur service provides free wellbeing support to help manage problems impacting on individual's health. As a Youth Worker, your role is to support taiohi by facilitating connections to social services and community groups and offering a range of tailored support.Key responsibilities include:
  • Facilitating community engagement and connections
  • Supporting reconnection with whānau and cultural identity
  • Encouraging the development of hobbies and skills
  • Assisting pathways to education and training
Work hours: Tuesday 8:30am- 5:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30am- 3:00pmAbout You | Mōu
We're looking for a passionate, energised youth worker to join our growing service.
You will have:
  • A National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (Level 4) or National Certificate in Youth Work, or willing to work towards.
  • A full driver's licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori, including Te Reo Māori and Tikanga, or be open to learning about it.
  • Previous experience in youth work, social work, mental health and addiction preferred.
