These roles are pivotal to the high-performing finance function, enabling NZTA to deliver on its strategic and operational financial objectives.As a trusted advisor to Group General Managers and senior leaders, you’ll provide expert financial guidance, develop and implement financial plans, and ensure alignment with NZTA’s multi-year objectives. You’ll lead a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Your key accountabilities will be:
Create a culture of exceptional stakeholder management, including leading engagement with key Business Group stakeholders to understand the business needs and challenges and to identify how finance can effectively and efficiently support the delivery of the Business Group’s objectives and outcomes
Lead strategic long term financial planning and budgeting for assigned business groups.
Provide expert advice on NZTA’s complex funding environment.
Deliver insights and analysis to support decision-making, performance and risk management.
Build strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
Coach and mentor a team of finance professionals.

You’ll be confident navigating complex financial environments and simplifying strategic advice for diverse audiences, with a solid understanding of public sector financial frameworks.What you’ll bring:
Proven experience in senior finance business partnering or finance leadership roles.
Significant practical experience in the provision of technical and strategic financial advice to stakeholders in a complex matrix organisation.
Experience leading continuous improvement and change management initiatives to drive performance and build capability.
Experience leading or guiding a high performing team of finance professionals, either through direct line management or a matrix way of working.
CAANZ qualification (or international equivalent) preferred and a relevant tertiary qualification.
