At the heart of this transformation is our fibre infrastructure-powering everything from traffic light control systems to CCTV and smart transport technologies.We're looking for a Fibre & Telco Manager to lead the strategic management, optimisation, and expansion of AT's fibre network. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on the city's digital backbone while reducing reliance on commercial providers and driving cost efficiencies.As the Fibre & Telco Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for all things fibre. You'll:
  • Own and optimise AT's fibre network-ensuring it's resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
  • Define and enforce fibre design standards across all projects and partners.
  • Monitor network health and performance, escalating issues that impact critical systems like SCATS and CCTV.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and public-sector partners to maximise fibre utilisation and reduce third-party costs.
  • Support infrastructure projects with expert fibre input, from planning to integration.
  • Lead documentation, mapping, and lifecycle planning of fibre assets.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?We're after a strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise. You'll need:Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in fibre network planning, documentation, or operations.
  • Proven ability to manage fibre design, asset documentation, and vendor relationships.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and fault management tools.
Desirable Extras:
  • Certifications like FOA CFOT or BICSI.
  • Experience with GIS systems and asset management platforms.
  • Knowledge of public-sector procurement and shared infrastructure strategies.
