Reporting to the Lines Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
  • Install, repair and maintain overhead and underground lines
  • Carry out Fault Response works
  • Actively work on and maintain the day to day running of the Firstlight Networks Network
  • Assist with the maintenance on the Streetlight contract inclusive of installations, repairs and maintenance of overhead and underground components associated with streetlights
  • Build strong long-term relationships with our customers.
To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:
  • Current NZ EWRB Practising Licence
  • NZ Line Mechanic Qualification
  • Current Unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence, heavy traffic preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in associated activities
  • Familiar with distribution systems and associated procedures up to and including 50kV
  • Knowledge of tree compliance regulations and management procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of all appropriate industry rules and regulations including the HSAW Act 2015
  • Strong lines construction skills with a focus on safety
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to read and understand plans and maps
  • Able to carry out system switching
  • Experience with off road / 4x4 driving
