Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunityDo you have leadership experience and have a passion for working with youth? We have a fabulous opportunity to support youth health as a School Nurse at Fraser High School.This key role will enhance the ability of young people to manage their own health and well-being, and ensure they have an understanding of how to access the health services they require. Using your health and te ao Māori experience, you’ll be championing tikanga in health equity.Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be part of a wider team, whilst of course working autonomously within your school.This role will be based at Fraser High School working 21 to 28 hours a week (school term only).He kōrero mōu: About you
  • It is essential that you are passionate about working with young people and reducing health inequity for our Maori, Pacific youth, rainbow young people, care experienced young people and rangatahi/ youth who experience a disability
  • You must be a Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • You will have a minimum of five years nursing experience, with previous experience working with youth preferred.
  • You will be comfortable working autonomously in a culturally appropriate, safe and responsive manner.
  • A culturally responsive and inclusive team member who is respectful of diverse beliefs, protocols, and practices and is committed to the principles of Tikanga Maori.
  • An individual who has a high level of integrity and has the ability to ensure confidentiality of information.
  • Someone who is passionate about providing quality health services that meet the needs of children, young people, and their whanau.
  • Someone who holds a current and valid NZ Drivers licence
  • Leadership qualities are an advantage but not essential
