You will be working with young people presenting to the Child & Adolescent Mental Health and AoD Service and providing them with integrated assessment and treatment, taking account of psychosocial issues relevant to the development and wellbeing of children and adolescents within the context of family/whanau.You will develop and facilitate therapeutic interventions for families and groups as needed and liaise with Hospital Health Services, community agencies and other child and youth specific organisations (e.g. Schools, G.P's, Youth Centres) to increase access to specialist care for children and youth requiring the services of mental health professionals.The role is part of Te Roopu Kimiora, Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Service. This supportive multi-disciplinary team actively promotes recovery focused care and are seeking an autonomous practitioner, who is keen to innovate and participate in service development to join us.This is a permanent fulltime role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday).You will have:
  • a passion for working with young people and their whānau, along with a diverse and flexible approach, and proficient skills and knowledge, with a commitment to Tikanga Māori.
  • working knowledge of the youth specific agencies and have strong assessment and intervention skills within the mental health and addiction sector.
  • hold New Zealand registration and a current practicing certificate with a relevant professional body i.e. a Nurse, Social Worker, or hold DAPAANZ registration.
  • hold a current full drivers licence with the ability to travel throughout the region.
