The centre cook plays a vital part in what we do. We place huge importance in offering our children local, fresh and tasty food options - providing a healthy and balanced diet that fuels their learning, growth and development.We value someone who is passionate about providing quality, healthy food options, has great communication skills and can work efficiently & independently while contributing positively to the wider team. You will love working with children and bringing enthusiasm and joy to their day. You will work with our menu, as well as our Centre's policies, Food Safety regulations and health and safety protocols.Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
Menu planning, preparing and serving meals, including: morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
Allergy management and catering for children with food allergies and intolerances (a good understanding of this is imperative)
Budget management: purchasing appropriate ingredients and ensuring sufficient stocks are on hand.
Placing food orders online (must be a confident computer user)
Ensuring health & safety standards and regulations are met and maintained at a high level at all times
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Managing time and recourses in the kitchen efficiently.
This is a part-time (32.5 hours per week), permanent position. Remuneration is $50,700 - $61,700 per annum, depending on skills and experience.This role is Monday to Friday, with working hours approximately 9:00am to 4:00pm, including a 30-minute lunch break.
