We aim to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable community that feels like home for our students.Job DescriptionTe Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe are seeking 4 x Night Supervisors (casual) to join our team, working night shifts on a rostered, on-demand basis. This vital role ensures our students feel safe, supported, and part of a positive community.As a Night Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our student residents overnight (11 pm - 7 am).You'll be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, responding to enquiries, providing well-being support, pastoral care, assisting in emergencies, monitoring facilities, and helping create a safe and supportive living environment.This is a hands-on role where every night is different. From providing excellent customer service to conducting building checks, assisting with lockdown procedures, and supporting student welfare, you'll be making a real difference to our residents' experience.Between patrols and incident responses, you'll take care of general admin and coordination to help keep the residence organised.For more detailed information, please refer to theThis is a casual, on-demand role - hours from 11 pm to 9 am across Monday to Sunday.Hourly rate $32 per hrTraining
We provide full training, including first aid, mental health event management, and basic security.He kōrero mōu | About youWe're looking for candidates who are empathetic, passionate about student well-being, and capable of handling challenging situations independently. While you'll be working alone during shifts, remote support from the team will be available.This role is ideal for those night shifts to fit their lifestyle, and we've found it to be a great fit for people with experience in pastoral care, student-focused roles, mental health services, social work, youth work, residential care, hospitality or even those considering a career as a police officer.To be considered for this role, you'll need to:
  • Be available for night shifts, across Monday to Sunday, including Public Holidays and the Christmas period
  • Ideally, have experience providing pastoral care or support
  • Possess strong communication skills, able to guide and support others with a gentle, non-enforcement approach
  • Have some knowledge of security systems, CRMs, databases, and Building Health & Safety compliance (training will be provided)
  • Be physically fit (a medical test by our approved provider is required
  • This position required successful applicants to pass NZ police vetting checks and Vulnerable Children's Act requirements
