Through integration and collaboration, we - re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.This is an opportunity to work with young people in an exciting dynamic community Child Adolescent Mental Health service providing assessment and therapy to infants, children and young people and their whānau in central Wellington.About the RoleWe are looking for a passionate full time Occupational Therapist. This role involves working as a CAMHS clinician and as a specialist Workfirst Occupational therapist within the Wellington CAMHS team. Both roles work in partnership with the young person and their whānau alongside CAMHS teams and other service providers.The Workfirst role is providing and facilitating supported employment, education and career development in response to young service user needs within CAMHS. The CAMHS Occupational therapist role is providing, in partnership, mental health assessment and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents alongside their whānau. This could be individual or group work, creative or talking therapies, occupation focused and involve interacting with schools, families and across a range of environments.You would be part of Wellington CAMHS and the Workfirst team that services the region as well as have the support of other youth sector occupational therapists across the region.About the Team/Service LocationThe Wellington CAMHS team is a passionate and enthusiastic team with a commitment to providing excellent services in assessment and intervention for young people and their whānau with moderate to severe mental health concerns.   • NZ Registered Occupational therapist.
  • Ideally an experienced practitioner or a new graduate with previous mental health or worked with young people or adults.
  • Preferably be innovative, work comfortably with multiple clinical mental health presentations, have excellent clinical and case management skills and be comfortable managing risk.
  • Preferably have experience, passion and interest for working with young people, be willing to learn and be involved in developing a service that benefits the client and their whānau.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with your team and be self-motivated and work well independently.
  • Enjoy creating a collaborative space in a demanding service and maintain excellent relationships within the team and other services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the intent of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and work to address the inequitable health outcomes for Māori, as Tangata whenua and other high needs groups.
  • Hold a Full NZ drivers licence.
