Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, this role is pivotal in shaping and delivering long-term commercial plans, sourcing strategies, and contractual arrangements that support our business objectives.You will be responsible for the full commercial and relationship lifecycle management of key ICT suppliers, negotiating complex, high-value agreements and leading in-flight sourcing initiatives. Your ability to manage risk, drive commercial outcomes, and collaborate effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation will be central to your success.As a senior leader within the Partnerships team, you’ll coach and guide a team of Commercial Managers, while playing a key role in developing best-in-class commercial practices and influencing decisions at the highest levels of the business. You’ll be a trusted advisor to our ICT leadership team, working closely with the CTO group and across multiple internal teams and external partners to ensure Chorus continues to deliver value and build strong, sustainable supplier partnerships.Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your ExperienceWe’re looking for a commercially sharp, people-focused leader with strong strategic and stakeholder management skills.
- 10+ years’ experience in large organisation managing commercial outcomes and procurement, with 5+ years at senior level
- Proven ability to lead complex, high-value negotiations and commercial strategies
- Strong leadership experience coaching teams or virtual squads
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and influencing at executive level
- Commercially astute with excellent analytical, financial and legal understanding
- Tertiary qualification in business, law, or a related field
- A proactive mindset and a passion for driving improvement, innovation, and outcomes
