
Summer Internship – Human Resources

- Gaining practical experience in your chosen field of study by working on diverse projects assigned by department managers and team members.
- Participating in various group activities and projects with other Interns, providing you with a well-rounded knowledge of the mining process.
- Presenting your experiences and key learnings to the Site Management Team at the conclusion of the internship, showcasing your growth and achievements.
- Undertake a process review each fortnight to take to the People & Culture team meeting for peer review and feedback.
- Summarise key findings of each review and learnings taken from the review process.
- Present key improvements to the People & Culture team and Managers that need to be undertaken and plan the change management process for it to occur.
- Critically evaluating human resources processes and checking documentation and policies are accurate and aligned to approved current internal standards and relevant legislation.
- In your mid 2nd or later year of study (Human Resource Management, Bachelor of Business Administration, Commerce or an Industrial Relations related field).
- Have accommodation options at Waihi or surrounding areas.
- Current & strong academic performance and a passion for your chosen field.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Full Drivers License and the ability to drive a manual vehicle preferred.
- Availability to participate from mid-late November, through to mid-February (2025-2026).
- Based at our Waihi Operation, one of New Zealand’s largest gold mines.
- Work on “real-life” projects, related to your field of study.
