About us | Mō mātouACC exists to support people - we help prevent injuries and get New Zealanders and visitors back to everyday life if they've had an accident.You can find more about ACC and the work we do .The Fraud Analytics team (as part of the Fraud Prevention & Investigation team) protects the sustainability of the Scheme by detecting, monitoring, and preventing external fraud and abuse.We are looking for two Leads to help grow our team - Fraud Analytics Development Lead and Fraud Intelligence Lead. You may be keen to step up to a team leadership role or already have experience in growing data teams. You will need to have both great leadership skills and technical credibility as you will be involved in technical problem-solving and shaping the work programme of the team.Both Lead roles report to the Manager, Fraud Analytics, and work closely with Lead team members across Fraud Prevention & Investigation and the wider ACC.About the roles | Mō te tūranga mahiThe Fraud Analytics Development Lead is accountable for leading multiple development projects that contribute to the long-term prevention of fraud, abuse and waste. They oversee work in a multi-disciplinary environment with data scientists reporting to them.The Fraud Intelligence Lead is accountable for leading a team of Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to provide business-as-usual services for our monitoring tools and intelligence products and provide support to investigations and intervention specialists. The team also provides forward-looking trend and risk analysis to proactively inform ACC.The Leads are expected to work closely together and utilise skills and resourcing across the two teams to foster a collaborative culture across Fraud Analytics teams and the wider Fraud Prevention and Intervention.The appointing salary range for both roles is $117,787 - $151,044 with appointment depending on skills and experience. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.These are Wellington based roles.About you | MōuBoth roles require:
  • A minimum of ten years' practical experience working in data and analytics or data science teams, including experience in technical leadership and/or people leadership roles
  • A relevant tertiary or professional qualification in a related field (e.g. data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, analytics, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success in leading multiple concurrent projects in complex, multidisciplinary environments, particularly where data, analytics, and technology intersect
  • Experience in building and maintaining a high performing, engaged, and positive team culture, including recruiting, retaining, and developing technical talent
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of developing others through feedback, support, and growth-focused development conversations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
