Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.Joining ArupWe are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Infrastructure Advisory team, known in the industry for advising and delivering some of the most innovative projects and procurements in Australasia.You will lead and manage client relationships within an existing and growing team providing advice related to the strategy, economics, policy, funding and procurement of a broad range of infrastructure projects that include transportation, energy, water, telecommunications, and others – delivered with an increasing focus on private sector participation, sustainability, decarbonisation, resilience and ESG principles.Here you will be supported by a team of around 35 infrastructure advisory professionals across New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia and nearly 200 professionals within Arup’s Advisory, Cities, Planning and Design Team across Australasia.You will be working with public agencies and private sponsors to develop projects and programs from inception to delivery. Within Arup the successful candidate will co-ordinate with various industry specialists and business leaders to ensure the full impact of the firm’s capabilities adds value for the client.The opportunity
  • Take primary responsibility for development and delivery of business cases in line with Waka Kotahi and New Zealand Treasury Better Business Case guidelines.
  • Undertake economic and financial analysis of projects, often using economic models prepared by junior members of the Infrastructure Advisory Team, to determine a project’s economic and financial viability.
  • Collate and develop content for successful proposals and tender documents and support the proposal process.
  • Manage discrete deliverables, manage junior staff, successfully deliver work on time and within allocated budget, and cultivate peer level client relationships.

  • A proven track record in business case development in accordance with Waka Kotahi and Treasury Better Business Case guidelines.
  • Experience in economic or financial modelling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, oral and written.
  • An understanding of Public Private Partnerships and underlying commercial structures and risk allocations.
