Recent experience in both acute gynaecology and obstetrics is essential as well as experience in antenatal care both inpatient and outpatient. You will be given an opportunity to indicate your clinical rotation preferences each year as part of our Annual Recruitment drive. We provide tertiary services to a region of 900,000 and secondary services to a local district of 375,000. We have approximately 5,500 deliveries per year in the district and 3,500 of these are at Waikato Hospital. Facilities include a seven bed delivery suite, two high dependency beds, a women’s acute assessment unit, antenatal, postnatal and gynaecological inpatient wards, a dedicated outpatient’s service and modern theatres.
