The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahiReporting to the Team Coach, our casual roles provide cover for permanent Support Workers - the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available.Based in Thames, our Housing and Recovery residential service operates 24/7, with staff covering a variety of shifts: 7:00am-3:30pm, 12:00pm-8:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, and 11:00pm-7:30am.In this role, you will:

Support people connect back with their community
Support with cooking, cleaning, gardening and helping with everyday household tasks
Assist with budgeting and independent daily living
Provide medication support where required
Attend appointments and advocate for the people we support

You | MōuYou'll have:

A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
Either the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us.
Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
Ability to be flexible and available for varying shifts.
Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
