We are seeking a Network Technical Safety Engineer who has an analytical approach and a keen interest in Health & Safety. The successful candidate will ensure that Top Energy complies with industry regulations minimising safety risks to Top Energy staff, contractors, and the public.This position reports to the General Manager Network and is based at our Kerikeri office.Key areas of focus will be:
  • Advise and liaise with Network and Contracting General Managers to establish, monitor and achieve team safety objectives
  • Day to day coordination and development of the Public Safety Management System
  • Attend operations and project meetings providing support and guidance on technical safety matters
  • Manage all network risks, ensuring effective and compliant controls are in place and monitored
  • Provide technical guidance and training on the application and use of all network risk controls
  • Lead the development of approved practices and procedures for working safely on our network including LV permitting
  • Manage the release of all Network related Safety Alerts
  • Undertake process and safety audits, while reviewing all network related inspection and audit results to identify recurring risks and required remedial actions
  • Keep the business informed of pending changes to electrical safety regulations or rules and initiatives underway in the industry
  • Support the Group Safety & Risk Manager with the development of the annual Group H&S Plan and work programme
  • Assist with providing network input for weekly and monthly H&S Reporting
To succeed in this role, you will have a relevant electrical qualification, and have at least 5 years' industry experience. It would also be an advantage to have previous experience in accident investigation as would experience in H & S roles within the industry.Additional skills and attributes you will have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and be self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a team
