Fantastic learning opportunityOur client is looking for a motivated Farm Manager for their 290-cow farm located on the outskirts of the Mamaku village. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into farm management; equally, you could already be an experienced manager, and are looking at this role for other reasons such as location, or you enjoy the smaller scale of farming. Despite the farm being sold with plans for conversion into a sheep farm, the current owner will continue as a sharemilker for the upcoming season.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure the maintenance of all farm assets and equipment
Drive and monitor overall farm productivity, ensuring efficient milking processes and adherence to industry best practices.
Managing pasture through regular pasture walks
Maintain accurate records of herd health, production, and farm activities
Oversee the milking process in the 22 aside herringbone cow shed, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the milking area
Maintain accurate records related to herd management, production, and farm activitiesAbout You:Be trustworthy and respectful
Experience in managing dairy farming operations
Be calm, up front and diligent
Have an attitude of completing the whole job and going the extra mile
Be physically fit and healthy
Ideally have or be working towards an industry qualification
Have a full, clean drivers license
