With a complex legacy system and plenty of historical data challenges, we’ve laid the groundwork through building a data dictionary and defining key data fields. Now, we’re ready for the next step and this is where you come in.Job DescriptionHe aha te tūranga - About the role:As our PDI Data Analyst, you’ll be our in-house subject matter expert on SQL and database technology when it comes to people related data. You’ll take ownership of measuring and maintaining data quality, ensuring accuracy and reliability, and partnering with our Digital & Data colleagues to embed strong governance around people data.This role is about back-end data stewardship — setting the foundations, creating clean, accurate data views and partnering with our PDI Reporting Analyst, who will bring that data to life for stakeholders. Together, you’ll ensure our organisation can trust its people data and use it to drive smarter decisions.What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
  • Be the technical point of contact for the organisation on people data storage, access, and best practice usage as defined in our Data Dictionary.
  • Work closely with Digital & Data colleagues to document data feeds and manage access requests.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy, flagging improvements and corrections to the PDI team where needed.
  • Maintain and evolve our HRIS process documentation and Key Defined Field (KDF) library.
  • Provide expert advice to colleagues on data quality, and work with the PD&I team to expand capability where KDFs don’t yet meet organisational needs.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data maintenance and reduce repetitive workloads across teams.

QualificationsKo wai koe - About you:If you’re a self-starter who’s excited by the idea of building something new and meaningful, this could be the role for you. We’re unpacking historical complexities and building new capability and we’re looking for someone who loves the challenge as much as the reward. Skills & experience we require include:
  • Advanced user of SSRS, SQL Server and related database technologies.
  • Experience working with HRIS, Payroll and other people related systems and large, complex data sets. PayGlobal experience would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with technical SMEs and reporting analysts.
  • Proven experience driving improvements, demonstrated through curiosity, proactive exploration of data and processes, and the ability to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies in the data space (a bonus, but not essential).
  • Good communication skills across chat, email, online video calls and face to face.
  • Resilient and positive outlook, ability to manage competing priorities and strong team player.
