Job Description:Our WhyDatacom works with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a difference in people's lives and help organisations use the power of tech to innovate and grow.About the role (your why)The General Manager - Sales leads the overall Australia and New Zealand sales team for Datapay, playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategy for Datapay enterprise SaaS payroll, and driving growth in alignment with Datacom's broader vision. You'll lead from the front-building, inspiring, and developing a high-performing team while working closely with colleagues across Sales, Go-to-market, Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Success to deliver exceptional customer experiences.In this role, you'll have the opportunity to accelerate Datapay's market presence, expand revenue streams, and strengthen long-term client partnerships. Beyond the numbers, you'll champion innovation, refine business practices, and create a culture of collaboration and accountability that ensures both your team and our customers thrive.What you'll bring
  • Deep and broad understanding of the business and technology strategies in SaaS
  • Strong strategic background, with an ability to grasp the big picture
  • Broad technical knowledge
  • High level understanding of the unique business requirements of the organisation
  • Knowledge of finance management practices, with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong sales and business development background
  • Leadership experience in sales or related team
  • Experience leading major bids teams
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the enterprise software field
  • 10+ years of General Management experience in a senior commercial, IT or SaaS environment
What you'll do
  • Owning the development and implementation of strategy for Datapay sales, inline with broader Datacom strategy
  • Collaborating with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives
  • Planning, personnel, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods
  • Involved in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and strategy
  • Directing and controlling the activities of own area of business, sometimes through managers within the team
  • Supporting Sales, Presales and Technical teams across Datacom ensuring an aligned go-to market approach focused on growth and mutual benefit between Datacom and our customers
  • Managing the relationships with (and between) external agencies and suppliers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial constraints and ongoing service is in-line with agreed contracts
  • Making final decisions on administrative or operational matters, ensuring effective achievement of operational objectives
  • Management of major sales according to the default or agreed assignment of opportunities
  • Developing a wider breadth of knowledge across the industry or business, through involvement with recognised industry bodies both generic and specific
  • Adhering to security policies and procedures including incident reporting and attending information security management trainings as required
  • Ensuring budgets and schedules meet requirements
  • Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the business
