To continue our important mahi the case-loading midwife will support and awhi our new graduates within a tuākana/teina model, as the new graduate develops their midwifery practice and philosophy, whilst providing continuity of midwifery care for whānau Māori living within the region of Te Toka Tumai Auckland.For further details, please refer to the position description .About our teamTe Manawa o Hine are whānau. We are a midwifery service that embrace Te Ao Māori, working towards improving outcomes for whānau as we work with a focus on equity.Aroha is the cornerstone of our mahi as we advocate for whānau to navigate through the most precious moments in preparing for the arrival of pēpi.We will awhi you so you can support our hapu whānau by providing you with all the ‘tools of the trade’ you need; car, IT equipment, clinics, phone, certification costs.This is a case-loading, continuity of care model where you will be rostered on call in the team, with four days off per fortnight. You will carry a caseload of up to 4 per month and be available for these wāhine unless rostered off.About youFor this role, we are looking for a registered midwife with:
- a current APC who is willing to work an on-call roster
- a genuine desire work with whānau, eliminating barriers and bias that prevent whānau Māori from engaging with maternity services
- midwifery experience, who wants to support new graduate midwives in a Tuakana / Teina model
- computer literacy, particularly navigating Regional Clinical Portal and Badgernet. This is ideal but not imperative as training can be provided
- a willingness to embrace the kaupapa of Te Manawa o Hine, while using organisational policies to guide care plans.
