A rare opportunity has emerged for a dynamic Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to lead strategic and operational safety initiatives across a multi-site aged care environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on both high-level planning and hands-on engagement - shaping systems, influencing culture, and driving continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system, aligned with sector-specific risks and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Lead risk assessments and incident investigations, with a focus on fall prevention, infection control, manual handling, and emergency response.
  • Design and deliver training programs, support managers in fulfilling their H&S obligations, and promote wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain robust data systems, lead audits, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Champion a proactive, learning-based safety culture. Facilitate committees and worker participation groups, and communicate safety messages clearly across all levels.
About You
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
  • 5+ years' experience in H&S leadership, ideally in aged care, healthcare, or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of NZ H&S legislation and practical application
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and engage across diverse teams
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with operational delivery
