Our leaders always have and will play a vital part in our journey to help more people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, build healthier societies and cultivate healthier environments that better everyone.If you sound like that leader, read on.The opportunity:The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Operational Risk in embedding a culture of risk management and accountability across AIA NZ through the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, thought leadership, advice, and assurance to senior management, as well as providing guidance to Line 1 & 2 Risk Managers and Risk Specialists.As a trusted adviser to the Risk Leadership Group, the Senior Operational Risk Manager role is responsible for driving a strong risk culture that focuses on “doing the right things in the right way”.This position is ideally suited to an individual who has significant experience in providing second-line assurance and advice within the Information Technology space.Key responsibilities include:Supporting the design and leading the implementation of the applicable risk frameworks and policies in collaboration with relevant Risk Leadership Teams and the wider Enterprise Leadership TeamProviding appropriate oversight, assurance, and challenge to enable the Head of Operational Risk to form a complete view of the risk landscape, challenges and emerging risks and issuesLeading the development and ongoing management of the Operational Risk roadmap, Operational Risk Assurance Plan, and leading applicable assurance activities (this work may initially focus on Information Technology-related risk areas)Challenging the robustness of the implementation of the risk management framework, risk profiles, control assurance plans, key risk indicators, metrics and supporting processes, including incident and issue managementSupporting regular reporting activities performed across the Risk division and taking a leadership role for identified itemsProviding leadership to enable Line 1 risk functions to perform at the highest level in the delivery of AIA’s risk frameworkSupporting the identification of opportunities to uplift risk management and governance practices and facilitate the delivery of identified initiativesParticipating in applicable risk forums and committees, including AIA Group Office led initiatives, as a delegate for the Head of Operational Risk.Ideally, you'll bring:Between 5-10 years of experience in similar roles within the Financial Services industry – preferably insurancePeople leadership/coaching experienceProven experience in providing assurance and advice over project and Information Technology-related functions (including information security, cloud and AI)Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and strong ability to influence others at all levelsAppropriate risk management certification (preferably certified in CISA, CRISC or CISSP)Deep understanding and demonstrated experience of risk management, three lines of defence, project and change risk, and model risk.Why choose AIA?At AIA, we believe in empowering every one of our people to find their 'better'.
