Healthcare Support Worker

We have a permanent role for an experienced and qualified peer support worker to work within our Peer Support Service.You will use your excellent relationship skills, resilience and flexibility to provide community-based support to people across West Auckland. Using your own personal lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction challenges and recovery, you will support people to achieve positive goals in their lives.If you want to make a difference in people's lives using the Strengths model and the Recovery approach and work for a well-established and respected award-winning provider of mental health services based in West Auckland, please contact us.This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm. Hourly rate for the role is $24 per hour to $29.94 per hour.We would welcome applications from people who have:

Their own lived experience of utilising mental health and/or addiction services.
A NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (Mental Health and Addictions) or Certificate in Peer Support (Mental Health, Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
A proven ability to work effectively with peers from various cultures, especially Maori and Pasifika.
A positive and professional attitude.
An ability to role model how to move forward in a journey to wellbeing.
Good computer and record keeping skills.
Familiarity with the West Auckland community.
Excellent communication, relationship and advocacy skills.
Creativity, enthusiasm and persistence.
A mature, empathetic personality, and a sense of humour.
A full, clean, NZ driver's licence.
